"Hope Lives" Story: This painting has quickly worked a place into my heart due to a chain of unexplainable events. As an artist the titles of my pieces usually evolve while I work resulting in a chosen name before the painting gets a final stroke. This painting was different. I could not come up with a name fitting enough for such a beautiful, peaceful and precious moment caught on canvas. Another ritual of mine is to send a photo to my sister and mom upon completion but again this painting was unusual. I chose to send the image to a group of friends with a message saying, 'Another one off the list! Name ideas?' Two minutes later, I received a phone call from a friend. Almost in tears, she explained that I needed to hear a story and that she had a name for my painting! The story was of a family who had lost almost all their cows and calves in the Atlas blizzard. The women in the story expressed that years ago they doctored on a deathly ill baldy face cow. When she survived they named her, Hope. After the storm she prayed, "God, it would be a miracle if Hope lived." Well, Hope did live!! The irony of this story leads me to believe, without any doubt, that God has given me this opportunity to share my art & my friends remarkable story of faith.
